Natalie Portman really wanted the role in “V is for Cendetta”. She wanted it so bad that Portman almost begged film bosses to cast her in ‘V for Vendetta’. Sh eknew it was a good role.

The actress was so desperate to be in the movie she flew across the US to audition to play freedom fighter Evey. She said, “I literally begged for this part. I flew out to San Francisco and read for the role. And thank God I got it.

“I just think it’s so rare to find a movie that’s really entertaining and really fun on a big scale and on an impressive visual scale, that’s also really so interesting and is going to give you something to think about afterwards.”

Natalie Portman is desperate to find the hair she shaved off for her latest film role because she doesn’t want it to fall into the wrong hands. Portman had to shave off her locks for her role in V For Vendetta, where her character joins forces with a terrorist and tries to topple a corrupt totalitarian British regime.

Natalie Portman’s a London girl

Natalie Portman may be a true American but it appears that while she was in the UK she fell in love with the London accent. Natalie had to adopt a London speaking voice for her new flick V for Vendetta and she spent a month working with a dialect coach to perfect her voice.

The star revealed that once she’d developed the accent she found it hard going back to her America tones. (more…)
